Intake

Intake

Once a report has been filed, OPHD will reach out to the Complainant via email, unless it is indicated in the report that a phone call is best, and invite them to an intake meeting.

At the intake meeting, an OPHD staff member will listen and document the Complainant’s concerns and discuss the Complainant's rights, resources, and options, including formal and informal resolution options and available supportive measures. If the Complainant requests a resolution of the allegations, OPHD will determine whether the allegations, if true, would be a violation of the Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment (SVSH) Policy or Anti-Discrimination policy. If so, the Office of Title IX Compliance will proceed with a resolution.

OPHD works closely with the PATH to Care Center and welcomes advocates at every step of the process  when a matter involves SVSH.

OPHD is committed to making the process fully accessible. If you have any questions regarding accessibility or need to request disability accommodations in the intake process, please reach out to ask_OPHD@berkeley.edu.
