Targeted Educational Conversations

When appropriate, OPHD may have a Targeted Educational Conversation (TEC) with a party who has been identified as engaging in the alleged behavior. Usually, TECs are done at the request of the impacted party.

TECs are not disciplinary in nature and are used as a reminder of UC Berkeley's policies. Participating in this process is not an admission of guilt.

The goal of a TEC is to address the alleged behavior that occurred and prevent it from recurring and/or escalating in the future.

If the complainant requests a TEC and wishes to remain anonymous, they can speak with OPHD about this option.
