The University of California, in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and university policy, prohibits discrimination against or harassment of any person at the University on the basis of a protected category. These policies apply to all aspects of University participation, e.g., admission, employment, access, and treatment in University programs and activities. The University also prohibits sexual harassment and sexual violence.

The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) is tasked with upholding these policies and coordinating the University’s response to complaints that any of these policies has been violated. OPHD also provides broad oversight of campus civil rights compliance, by monitoring and evaluating campus department programs for alignment with systemwide and campus policies.

Below you will find the applicable policies for each affiliated group at Berkeley. If you have any questions regarding the policies please email ask_ophd@berkeley.edu
